Funded Projects
The
ODL is involved in three projects which are funded by the JISC.
Further details can be found on their individual project pages.
Text
Encoding Initiatives
The
ODL is involved in several projects to encode books and manuscripts
in electronic full text. Chief among the projects are:
-
The Early English Books Online project - the ODL is a partner
in this project to encode 25,000 early printed books in XML.
The project web page can be found at http://www.odl.ox.ac.uk/eebo/news.html
-
The Carte Calendar Project - the ODL developed the guidelines
and was responsible for delivering the encoded full-text for
this conversion of a 19th-century handwritten calendar to
electronic form. The finished project is available through
the Bodleian
Library as well as through the Access to Archives gateway.
Other
upcoming projects include the ECCO (Eighteenth Century Collections
Online) project. ODL staff are available to offer advice and
expertise on text encoding projects initiated by members of
Oxford University, and can be contacted by email at odl-enquiries@ouls.ox.ac.uk
