Biography:
Daughter of the Hon. William Howard of Rivensby, Lincolnshire, and granddaughter of the first Earl of Berkshire, Dorothy became maid of honour to Catherine of Braganza, queen consort of Charles II. She married James Grahme (1650-1730), courtier and politician, of Levens Hall, Cumbria, in 1675, and they had three sons and two daughters.
