Description:
Bronze bust, facing viewer; long wig, prominent bushy eyebrows, moustache; lace cravat, Chancellor's robe indicated at left shoulder; Knight Grand Cross, Order of St Michael and St George over his left breast. On scagliola pedestal inscribed 'Jowett'.

'The Acting Curator [Mr Green] reported an offer on the part of the Vice-Chancellor to present to the Examination School a bust in bronze of Lord Cave the late Chancellor of the University. ... Perhaps posthumous. Perhaps after the portrait by Sir Gerald Kelly, exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1924 (Merchant Taylors' Hall, London).
